Upside-Down Fig Salami Tarts
Upside-down pastry tarts are so easy to make, delicious, and great for parties and entertaining. Try out these fig salami ones, they are even vegetarian-friendly. Sykofagos Fig Salami & Carrefour are available exclusively at Welbee's.
Ingredients: (makes 8 pieces)
1 Sykofagos Salami (I'm using the paprika one)
1 Carrefour Pasta Sfoglia
1 Ġbejna Moxxa (or mozzarella)
1 Small Onion
Sun-dried Tomato
Fresh Thyme
Olive Oil
Balsamic Vinegar
1 Fresh Egg
Sesame Seeds (optional)
Method:
Place a sheet of baking paper onto a baking tray)
Preheat the oven to 200°c.
Spray some olive oil, followed by some balsamic
Thinly slice the onion and salami.
Cut the sun-dried tomato into small pieces.
Grate the ġbejna.
Place a couple of sliced onion onto the balsamic vinegar, followed by the salami, tomato, thyme and grated ġbejna.
Cut the pasta sfoglia with a cookie cutter.
Cover all the ingredients with the dough and gently press the edges with a fork.
Brush the dough with some egg wash and pierce it with a fork to let steam escape while baking.
Drizzle some sesame seeds and bake for about 15 minutes until nice and crispy.
Gently flip over onto a chopping board, remove the baking paper and serve immediately.
