Pulled Pork Bao Buns

Juicy sweet & sour pulled pork served in warm steamed bao buns. Perfect for parties, or as part of an oriental meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pork Tenderloin

  • 1tsp Salt

  • 1tsp Pepper

  • 1tsp Paprika

  • 1 Onion (chopped)

  • 1 jar Real Thai Sweet & Sour

  • 1pkt Yutaka Gua Bao Buns

  • 1/2 Carrot (finely sliced)

  • 1 Spring Onion (sliced)

  • 1/2 Chili Pepper (optional, sliced)

Method:

  1. Start with the pork. Mix the salt, pepper, and paprika. Remove any extra fat from the tenderloin and rub it with the spices.

  2. Chop the onion and place it in a deep dish, place the pork on top. If the meat has very little fat, add about half a centimetre of water to prevent it from becoming dry.

  3. Cover and roast at 180°c for about 3 hours, depending on the size of the meat. It should be enough for an 800g piece.

  4. When it’s done, pull the meat using two forks until it’s all pulled apart.

  5. Add the sweet & sour sauce to it together with a couple of tablespoons of water.

  6. Place the dish on the hob and bring it to a gentle simmer at low heat.

  7. Mix well until the meat is all nice and juicy.

  8. Steam the bao buns, and serve immediately with the pork, carrots, spring onion and chili.

  9. Alternatively you can use BBQ sauce instead of sweet & sour.
