Chocolate Lasagna
Delicious dessert with layers of creamy chocolatey goodness.
Ingredients:
Base:
300g Chocolate Biscuits (crushed)
75g Lakeland Pure Irish Butter Unsalted (melted)
Vanilla Cream Cheese Layer:
250g Emborg Cream Cheese
80g Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Chocolate Pudding Layer:
1shot Liqueur or Vermouth
Whipped Cream:
2tbsp Sugar
Topping:
50g Chocolate Chips
Method:
Start with the base. Crush the chocolate biscuits to fine crumbs.
Mix with melted butter.
Press firmly into a dish.
Chill for 10 minutes.
For the vanilla layer, beat the cream cheese with the cream, sugar, and vanilla.
Whip until thick and fluffy.
Spread over the chilled biscuit base.
For the chocolate layer, heat the cream gently, add dark chocolate and the liqueur.
Let it stand for 5 minutes, then whisk well until all the chocolate has melted.
Let it cool, then pour on top of the vanilla layer.
Chill 10 minutes so it sets slightly.
Add the final cream layer by whipping the cream with sugar until soft peaks form.
Spread as the top layer of the “lasagne.”
Decorate with chocolate chips and refrigerate at least 4 hours until set.
