Ingredients for around 8 - 10 rolls:
Filling
500g Minced Pork
2 Spring Onions (sliced)
2 Garlic Cloves (grated)
1/2tsp Ginger (grated)
1 Carrot (finely chopped)
300g Cooked Rice
50g Mushrooms (ideally shiitake)
1 Fresh Egg
2tsp Soy Sauce
1tsp Sesame Oil
1 tsp Cornflour
Sauce
1 Chili Pepper (chopped)
1 Spring Onion (sliced)
1tbsp Oyster Sauce
1/tsp Soy Sauce
1/2tsp Cornflour
50ml Water
1 Savoy Cabbage
Directions:
1. Start with the filling. Place the minced pork, cooked rice, mushroom, carrot, onions, and ginger in a large bowl.
2. Finish off with freshly grated garlic.
3. Now add the egg, cornflour, sesame oil, and soy sauce.
4. Using clean hands or food-safe gloves, mix everything well until well combined.
5. Cover and place it in the fridge for 30 minutes to enhance its flavour.
6. Now let’s prepare the cabbage.
7. Remove the stalk by carefully using a sharp knife.
8. Peel away the first 8 - 10 leaves and cut away the end of the centre stalk.
9. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the leaves.
10. Lower the heat and let them simmer for about 5 minutes until they get tender.
11. Place a couple of tablespoons of the meat mixture in the centre of each leaf and roll them into a spring roll.
12. Place them in your steamer, cover and steam for about 30 minutes.
13. While they are steaming, prepare the sauce by mixing up all the ingredients in a small pot.
14. Bring to a boil, give it a good stir, then let it simmer on a low flame until nicely thickened.
15. Serve warm on top of your veggie rolls.
