Nacho Nuggets

Easy to make baked chicken nuggets coated with a crispy tortilla shell.

Ingredients:

Filling

  • 400g Chicken Breast

  • 1tsp Salt

  • 1/2tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1/2tsp Onion Powder

  • 1/2tsp Soy Sauce

  • 2tbsp Breadcrumbs

    Coating

  • 50g Plain Flour

  • 1 Egg (beaten)

  • 2tbsp Milk

  • 150g Santa Maria Tortilla Chips Cheese (crushed)

     

    To Serve

  • Santa Maria Nacho Cheese Sauce

  • Tortilla Chips

Directions:

  1. Crush the tortilla chips in a food processor and set them aside.

  2. Blend all the filling ingredients until you get a thick paste.

  3. Knead it until it gets firm and shape about a spoonful into nuggets. Slightly wet your hands to make the job easier.

  4. Make an egg wash using the milk and the egg and prepare the coating station using a bowl with flour, another with the egg wash, and a third one containing the crushed tortillas.

  5. Pass the nuggets from the flour, egg, and crushed tortillas and place them on a baking rack.

  6. Bake in a 200°c oven for 25 - 30 minutes or until golden and crispy. You can air fry them too. Alternatively, you can deep fry them.

  7. Serve with tortillas and warm nacho cheese sauce.
