Easy Salmon Sushi

Don’t be scared of trying sushi at home. So simple, tasty, and at a fraction of the price!


Ingredients:

  • Saitaku Sushi Rice

  • Avocado (sliced)

  • Sushi-Grade Salmon/Tuna (sliced)

  • Spring Onion

  • Cream Cheese (optional)

  • Saitaku Sushi Nori

  • Soy Sauce (to serve)


Method:

  1. Prepare the rice as indicated on the packet. Make sure to let it cool down completely before using.

  2. Ideally you need a bamboo mat to make the rolling easier.

  3. Place a sushi nori on the bamboo mat, shiny side facing down.

  4. Make a thin layer of sushi rice leaving about 4cm at the edge.

  5. Using wet hands makes things less sticky.

  6. Place a layer of your favourite fillings such as spring onion, cream cheese, avocado and of course the protein. Salmon or Tuna. 

  7. Carefully start rolling using the bamboo mat as a guided press the filling firmly.

  8. Wet the edge of the nori with little water to complete the seal.

  9. Trim the edges of the sushi roll, then starting from the centre, create you sushi portions.

  10. Use a wet knife for a cleaner cut.

  11. Serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, wasabi, and don’t forget to use your chopsticks for an authentic Asian experience at home.
