Maltese Bread Burger

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Maltese Peppered Cheeselet

  • 150g Fresh Good Quality Minced Beef

  • 1tsp Olive Oil

  • 2tsp Melted Salted Butter

  • 1tsp Chopped Parsley

  • 1tsp Dry Flaked Onion

  • 50g Shredded Cheddar Cheese

  • 50g Shredded Mozzarella

  • 1 Small Maltese Loaf (around 150g)

  • Salt & Pepper to Taste

Directions:

  • 1. Prepare patty and place cheeselet in the centre. Make a firm patty but do not overpress. It keeps the centre moist. Season on both sides.

  • 2. Grill patty at medium-high heat with a teaspoon of olive oil. 3-4 mins per side.

  • 3. Set aside and let it rest.

  • 4. Combine melted butter with parsley & flaked onion.

  • 5. Combine cheddar & mozzarella cheese.

  • 6. Slice Maltese loaf in half and remove some of the crumb in a circular pattern. Do not trim the edges!

  • 7. Spread the butter mix and add half of the cheese mix on the bottom half.

  • 8. Place patty on top and add the remaining cheese mixture.

  • 9. Close loaf and press firmly. Wrap tightly with aluminium foil.

  • 10. Bake in a preheated 220°c for 10 minutes.

  • 11. Remove foil and bake for further 6-8 minutes.

  • 12. Cut in half, serve with fresh salad and enjoy!
